In Thor 3: Ragnarok, Thor will fight against Thanos and his stepbrother, Loki, will die.

People believe that the third installment of Thor might have a lot of  crucial events that will affect the future of Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kevin Feige, Marvel Studious' president, said that Thor 3: Ragnarok will be an important movie.

"This is a very important movie for us in Phase 3. We plan on taking Thor to another level. It picks up where we leave Thor in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' and impacts everything that comes after," said Feige.

Because of that, people speculate that Thor Odinson, portrayed by Chris Hemsworth, might have a huge fight off against Thanos, portrayed by Josh Brolin.

The possibility of a Thor and Thanos fight off is exciting for the fans because Thanos is very powerful and Thor will have a difficult time defeating the Mad Titan. It is even rumored that the God of Thunder will be defeated by the Mad Titan and have another battle in Avengers: Infinity War.

Another rumor is that Loki Laufeyson, the god of thunder's step-brother, will die in Thor 3: Ragnarok. If the future director decides to follow the comics, Thor himself will rip off Loki's head, thus killing him off. If they do follow the comics, this movie might feature a lot of new gods from Asgard.

Aside from that, Ragnarok might feature another antagonist, Surtur, an enormous fiery demon who has the ability to spread fire. Surtur's appearance will lead the destruction and fall of Asgard.

Indeed, there are a lot of speculations about the upcoming Thor movie. But fans of the franchise might have a confirmation soon once we find out who will be directing the 2017 movie,

As of now in Thor 3: Ragnarok, there's no official announcement who will be sitting on the director's chair but the release of the upcoming movie is on November 3, 2017.
