Learning from the best now he is striking it out on his own. Keith Anderson, former Chief Investment Officer at Soros Fund Management is now raising funds for his own hedge fund named Anderson Global Macro according to recent report from Reuters.

Anderson is now sourcing funds to start up his business, hoping to raise between US$500 million to US$1 billion before the firm opens this year. Anderson cut ties with the established hedge fund as transitioned to become a family owned business. Previously, he helped establish BlackRock and then worked for Soros from 2008 to 2011.

Aside from his financial base, he is also on the lookout for his management team. He has included in his roster former Credit Suisse vice-chairman Douglas Paul and other Soros old hands such as Christopher Wiegand and Jon Lipsky. Lipsky brings with him experience from the International Monetary Fund and JP Morgan Chase.
