Phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is almost over, with 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' already in theaters and 'Ant-Man' soon to follow this July. Given how things have gotten a bit more exciting with the agreement made between Sony and Marvel Studios in doing a 'Spider-Man' reboot, fans will definitely stay tuned to get every bit of update on each of the upcoming films.

Here are some of the latest updates on the films of MCU Phase 3:

Captain America: Civil War (May 6, 2016)

Marvel Studios recently announced that they have finally begun production on 'Civil War.' Reports indicate that principal photography has commenced at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, and will be shooting on other locations such as Puerto Rico, Iceland and Germany. It was also revealed this week that Paul Rudd will be coming back as Scott Lang a.k.a. Ant-Man in the film (after his introduction in this July's 'Ant-Man'), and that Martin Freeman (known for his roles in television's 'Sherlock' as Dr. Watson and 'The Hobbit' film series as title character Bilbo Baggins) has officially joined the cast.

Doctor Strange (November 4, 2016)

In spite of this movie being slated to be released next year, there has not been much updates other than the fact that actor Benedict Cumberbatch (best known for his performance as Sherlock Holmes) has signed on to play the titular Sorcerer Supreme. Recent reports also indicate that filming will begin in November of this year, with actors such as Simon Baker, Chiwitel Ejiofor and Daniel Bruhl attached to the project.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (May 5, 2017)

After surprising the world with its dominating box office and critical performance, 'Guardians of the Galaxy' has had its sequel greenlit, and recent reports indicate that this film would not be based in the comics after Marvel Studios decided that the comic storyline was too risky. In an interview made by Alison Rosen with director James Gunn, the latter indicated that the GotG sequel would have an original story and would answer some of the questions in the first film.

'Spider-Man' (July 28, 2017)

After narrowing down the casting of Peter Parker to Asa Butterfield and Tom Holland last week, the Marvel-Sony 'Spider-Man' reboot seems to have also found itself a list of directors, according to a report from Deadline. The list of names include Ted Melfi (known for 'St. Vincent'), Jared Hess ('Nacho Libre'), Jonathan Levine ('Warm Bodies'), Jason Moore ('Pitch Perfect'), as well as Jonathan M. Goldstein and John Francis Daley ('Vacation').

Thor: Ragnarok (November 3, 2017)

A certain scene in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' gave fans a glimpse of what may happen in 2017's 'Thor: Ragnarok,' and with the updates concerning the film, it just might happen. A recent report indicated that Marvel Studios declared this movie to be the most important aspect of the 'Infinity War' buildup, and that a new character named "the Enchantress" would pair up with Loki to bring more problems to Thor and gang.

Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 (May 4, 2018) and Part 2 (May 3, 2019)

Aside from the fact that 'Avengers: Infinity War' is going to be filmed entirely using IMAX cameras, it was also revealed this week that the two-part film already has also found its writers. 'Captain America: Civil War' scriptwriters Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus were reported to have been hired to write the story for 'Infinity War' according to Deadline.

Black Panther (July 6, 2018)

A recent report from the A.V. Club have further confirmed that the title character of 2018's 'Black Panther' (played by Chadwick Boseman) will make an appearance in next year's 'Captain America: Civil War' alongside Ant-Man.

Captain Marvel (November 2, 2018)

It has already been speculated that an actress has been secretly cast as Carol Danvers a.k.a. Captain Marvel and that she might make an appearance in 'Civil War.' However, according to a report published by NME, 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' director Joss Whedon wanted to have the titular superheroine appear in his film, but Marvel Studios forbade him from doing it.

Inhumans (July 12, 2019)

No recent reports have surfaced yet regarding the announced 'Inhumans' film, although there are tons of speculations as to how the recent storyline of 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' would build up to the 2019 movie.
