Empire Season 2 Announced by Fox: Jussie Smollet Fires Back to Malicious Rumors

Empire season 2 is confirmed as Fox announced that indeed the show is set to have another season and if the rumor mill is right it'll be as soon as September of this year.  

Previously the show suffered from malicious news that it won't be having a season 2 and behind this hoax is the site New York Times News which known for its satirical news. 

With fans showing concern over the news, stars of the show later clarified that the news is indeed a hoax, asking the fans not to believe anything regarding the cancellation of the show. 

Jussie Smollett who plays the role of Jamal Lyon in the show expressed his sentiment on his twitter account as he stated "Haha hell no. Come on now. Don't believe faux journalists and pretend blogs son..." sending great relief to fans of the show

The show, primarily based on James Goldman's The Lion in the winter started airing last January 7, 2015 starred famous Terrence Howard who portrays the role of Lucious Lyon, former drug dealer tuned CEO of Empire company and Taraji Henson who portrayed the role Cookie Lyon the ex wife of Lucious Lyon and the mother of his kids.

Rotten tomatoes rated the show with an impressive average rating of 7.1/10, as if not enough the show prove more its success as it received an outstanding record of 16.7 million viewers for its first season's finale episode.

Meanwhile, Empire being a musical television show recently released their album and which topped the Billboards top 200 charts. Furthermore, the show has Timbaland and his team to write original songs for the show.

With confirmation of season 2 and the success Empire season 1 received from the viewers, more expectation and anticipation is given to the cast and crews for the upcoming episode of the show. Whether it will continue its record breaking status or not we'll have to watch out and see for ourselves.
