"Modern Family" is almost done with its sixth season but the show continues to dominate the sitcom pool in the U.S. Co-creator Steve Levitan said that they had been lucky that the "Modern Family" cast go along with each other so well on-screen that they can convincingly act out even Levitan's personal experiences, which he slipped into the show. Even off-screen, the actors prove that they have good relationship. In fact, Julie Bowen backs up her co-star Sofia Vergara who is currently facing a lawsuit filed by her former partner.

Steve Levitan admits that he incorporates hid real life experiences in some of the "Modern Family" episodes. In an interview, Levitan revealed that the episode where Haley, Luke, and Alex tried to give Phil and Claire a surprise breakfast in bed then caught their parents "in the act," was based in his experience. These moments along with other memorable episodes are the reason why after six years, "Modern Family" is still running strong. Levitan, who is also the executive producer of the show, said that the characters they created for the show are very relatable which makes them effective to the audience.

"They're not fit and fabulous like in Will & Grace - they are more like us than had been previously portrayed ... We wanted to show that kind of family," Levitan said.

Julie Bowen, who plays Claire Dunphy in the show, expressed her support towards Sofia Vergara as the Columbian actress currently involved in a lawsuit. Bowen only has praises for Vergara whom she'd been acting with for the last six years.

Vegara was accused by her ex-partner Nick Loeb for wanting to destroy two frozen embryos that they created when they were still together. Vergara denied the said claims of Loeb.

"Modern Family" still proves to be one of the best television sitcom right now. Its 20th episode under the sixth season entitled, "Knock Em Down" will center on Jay and Cam's relationship as in-laws and will air on ABC Wednesday night.

Co-creator Steve Levitan considers their team lucky for finding an ensemble that really works well on and off the small screen. Julie Bowen's support to Sofia Vergara as she faces a lawsuit is a testament to the good relationship that the "Modern Family" actors established through the years.
