As the upcoming season will no longer revolve around the Crane's family, it will now focus on the romance between Ichabod Crane and Abbie Mills, and their new challenges to face. Will it be a fresh or another major disappointment?

Fans are now getting psyched with the latest development of the show. As far as the story is concerned, many said that it will be a total reboot. The show might have learned from previous season's status compared to the first one.

According to the press release by the cable network, the supernatural drama will explore how the relationship between the two witnesses will evolve in the third season. Thus, fans of Crane and Mills will get a chance to watch their favorite characters sharing more screen space in season 3. Meanwhile, it also claimed that the two will have to encounter more challenges in the upcoming sequel.

According to the official synopsis, "The jaw-dropping conclusion of Season 2 left Ichabod Crane and Lieutenant Abbie Mills with a decisive, albeit heartbreaking, victory over evil. In the name of good, Crane made the ultimate decision to kill his wife, Katrina Crane. With evil seemingly at bay, the third season will explore how the partnership between Crane and Mills will evolve and what challenges these two witnesses will now face."

But earlier actor Tom Mison via Variety revealed that supernatural series will no longer revolve around Crane's family drama. So it remains to be seen how the partnership between the two witnesses take a step forward in season 3.

For now, we can say that the show is ended doing its best to shift the story to a whole new direction in which fans will no longer disagree. It was even stated that many fans are turned off of the Season 2, as the show got carried away with witchcraft, blood and gore, which is very not like the first season.
