Are the odds in Agent Carter's favor? Has ABC finally given the show its much deserved Agent Carter Season 2 renewal? The latest Agent Carter Season 2 Renewal news show that an Agent Carter Season 2 might be happening.

The ABC/Marvel venture has been originally tagged as a limited series run following the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. series. Agent Carter Season 1 had an initial eight episode run and fans of the sexy and intelligent Agent Peggy Carter are anxious for news on whether or not the show will be renewed for a new season.

The show hasn't been performing well in the ratings as everyone would have expected. Overall,  Agent Carter has received tons of praise from both critics and fans alike because of its strong take on feminism, which is what most mainstream shows of today seem to have a visible lack of. The show has earned a huge and loyal fanbase despite the show's low ratings.

"We feel very optimistic," ABC entertainment president Paul Lee said in an interview.  According to reports, the Jan. 13 episode had delivered 5.1 million viewers, and Lee reported that at this time last year, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was doing half that figure. It seems like ABC has come to defense of Agent Carter's low ratings. Could this mean an Agent Carter Season 2?

The network already has greater plans for Agent Carter, now that Peggy will be making an appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron. The strong-willed secret agent will indeed be a welcome face once she makes her much awaited Agent Carter Season 2 appearance. Television definitely needs more strong female leads and Agent Peggy Carter is one of the best examples of such.
