Sony is on its way to completing the PS4 Slim video game console which would feature improved hardware and stability. A leak of the photos of the PS4 Slim is out on the web, suggesting that Sony has been designing the PS4 Slim version a while ago.

But whether Sony is launching it in this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo remains uncertain. It took three years before the slim version of the PS 3 was introduced since the released date of PS3, and the country where you live also needs to be factored in.

So it is safe to assume that the PS4 Slim is already a development in progress but it may not come very soon.

Rumors about the specs have also started to circulate soon after the leaked photos. Hardware and aesthetics department would be receiving the attention for this next tech gen's console, mending hardware and stability issues by providing a more compact and coordinated design.

The PS4 Slim is also said to use SSD instead of the standard HDD for developers to optimize recent video games at full 1080p resolution. The downside of it is that it would be more expensive since HDD is less costly than SSD.

The rumor about the possibility of removing the optical Blu-Ray drive made many users enraged, though. Based on their exchange of opinions in online tech forums, the reports claiming that many users would like to ditch the Blu-Ray drive because most, if not all, prefer to keep their video game content digital is a lie.

According to rumors, it's necessary to remove the drive to allow a slimmer and light video game console. Load times will be put to a minimum and file transfer would be a breeze with a more solid state drive.

In the end, buying a second generation of the new console is preferential. Some wait for the slim version and forgo the PS4, while others are contented with their older version of the PlayStation or the current PS4 console.

How Sony would make it more slim, powerful, and stable would be a major deal breaker, of course.
