'Power Rangers Mighty Morphin’ Release Date set in 2016? The Flash’s Robbie Amell Lands as New Red Ranger

"Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" will be revived once again in the big screen on July 2016. Lionsgate Films and Saban Entertainment will produce the 90's hit tv show and adopt it for a theatrical release next year. Fans will be able to recall their childhood memories with the upcoming Power Rangers film.

Lionsgate Films and Saban Entertainment aims to introduce the 90's hit "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" to the new generation by making a film adaptation of the hit TV show. This will also allow loyal fans to reminiscence their fond recollections of the show in their childhood days.

"Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" was previously announced last 2014 but fans wondered if it will still get a theatrical release after the original producer Roberto Orci left the movie project. However, Jason David Frank, the actor behind Green Ranger, reassured that the film will still be released on July 2016 as originally scheduled, he said that, "The movie is definitely set for this year," adding that, "Everything is in place."

While there are no details yet on the possible plot for the upcoming Power Rangers movie, Jason David Frank said that "I email Saban and ask them kind of what you're asking me, but they do feel that I'm going to be part of it, because they feel there's no movie, at least, without me."

In related news, a Power Ranger fans wanted to be a part of the upcoming film. Robbie Arnell from The CW's "The Flash" wanted to play the Red Ranger in the upcoming movie. According to Realty Today, the actor took to his twitter his thoughts on becoming a Power Ranger. The actor said that he is a big fan growing up watching "Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers".

In related news, three original Rangers from the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers series will be on a reunion this April at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center. Austin St. John, who plays the Red Ranger, Walter Jones, as the Black Ranger, and the Blue Ranger David Yost will reunite at the said convention. The series villains Rita Repulsa and Goldar will join them together with second Yellow Ranger Karan Ashley and David Fielding who played Zordon.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is based on the Japanese "Super Sentai" series and it has gained popularity worldwide when it was adapted in Fox Kids TV series in the 90s. Fans of the series may expect the release of its upcoming reboot movie on July 2016.
