At Apple’s WWDC on Monday, Apple revealed its map service for iOS6 and some features like 3D view. IOS6 will be available this fall.

This is a race with Google Maps, and set to replace Google Maps. Apple and Google are rivals in many aspects, and now Apple's mobiles rely on Google's Android a lot. Once Apple's map service launches, it doesn't need to worry that Google cuts off Android any more. Apple also announced several updates, including 3D maps.

Google’s map services will be greatly challenged, because half of Google Maps traffic is from Apple’s mobiles.
