It is almost certain by now, if rumors are to be believed, that iPhone 6 will be released on or around September this year, alongside the latest Apple's operating system updates in iOS 8 that was the highlight of last week's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).

The Cupertino-based company however remains quiet amidst the rumors circulating in the internet, which is expected.

iPhone 6 is touted to be the best Apple smartphone by far, and news about its potential features keep Apple fans excited, including wireless charging, waterproof chassis, Sapphire Crystal Display and support for Near Field Communications (NFC).

There are also rumors that the iPhone 6 will come in 2 variants, one increasing the screen size to 4.7 inches while the other, a phablet, will measure 5.5 inches. Both variants would have a bigger screen but slimmer chassis than its predecessor.

The Apple iPhone 6 would reportedly run on a new A8 64-bit processor. It will also be able to provide faster connectivity by upgrading the LTE radio inside the iPhone, enabling internet speed of up to 300 megabits per second.

Expect Touch ID fingerprint scanner functionality to expand its use into a wider range of functions including mobile payments with new iPhone. Together with NFC, users will be allowed to execute actions and transfer information with their phone by simply tapping it against another device. This improved feature will allow Apple to compete head on with PayPal and Google Wallet.

Lastly, the iPhone 6 camera might also be getting an upgrade in improving imaging quality with the addition of optical image stabilization (OIS) but will most likely keep its existing 8-megapixel iSight sensor present in the iPhone 5S. It means Apple will not be joining the 20 MP cameras of its competitors' flagship devices as it will probably retain its 8MP camera.

All these however should remain as speculations as we watch out for the unveiling of Apple's next generation smartphone.
