Avaz AAC has developed a new app directed to help those who have autism. Developer Ajit Narayanan and the Invention Labs team have taken in $550,000 funding round led by Inventus Capital. The fund was also joined by the Mumbai Angels, Sierra Atlantic founder Raju Reddy and Rajan Anandan of Google India MD.

In the next decade, there would be more than half a million children diagnosed with autism would turn to adults which could be confronted with the challenges to be dealt with in the future. However, Avaz says that with the new app, those who have autism would be able to communicate effectively.

The new investment received by Avaz would be used for corporate affairs including expanding its business to Australia, India, US, Denmark and Italy. Narayanan has been developing language development apps including FreeSpeech along with 25 other patents under his name. Avaz would also make a FreeSpeech app available later this year.
