International soccer star and philanthropist Didier Drogba announced launching his brand of beachwear and underwear for men. Drogba’s line would be manufactured through a partnership with HOM, a French clothing brand for men, reported Ventures Africa.

The announcement was made through Drogba’s Instagram page on Wednesday making the footballer join other sport stars including Beckham and Ronaldo in the underwear label market.

Elie Kuame and HOM designed the 18 piece collection for Drogba’s brand. The launch was scheduled in May that would feature apparels for men in different colors. The brand will also be made available through selected outlets worldwide, said a report from Ventures Beat.

The investment would create a social engagement following the sale of apparels. This is because a percentage would be taken from the sale and would be donated to Didier Drogba Foundation that would help the healthcare and education sect in the Ivory Coast.

Didier Drogba said in a statement last October, “By producing my own line of underwear I’m able to achieve two goals: to design a fashionable men’s underwear range, and to create a product that will directly support my charitable foundation – to aid in healthcare and education in the Ivory Coast.”
