Square Inc. has appointed a new executive into office, reported ZDNet. The company has taken in Alyssa Henry, a former executive from e-commerce giant Amazon Web Services. The report went on saying Henry has served AWS as its vice president for storage services. Henry was also in-charge of overseeing teams, businesses and software with S3 subscription.

The move to join Henry into the Square team would lead her to be the head of the payment platform’s engineering unit.
The appointment of Henry into the Square team was announced on Monday morning. Henry would be responsible for Square’s engineering services, reported ZDNet. Square, a credit card processing firm was established by Twitter’s Jack Dorsey. The company said that the digital transactions managed by Square were valued "tens of billions of dollars in payments annually."

The addition of Henry to the team does not only aid Square in expanding its operations with multiple payment plans while looking into the global market but will also help the company as it goes public through an IPO within the year.
