Fishing social network Fishidy won in Madison's Pressure Chamber contest for startups last Thursday. The competition, which was hosted by the local Chamber of Commerce, will send the winner to a Silicon Valley conference in June, according to The Badger Herald.

Fishidy president Brian Jensen said: "I am going to Silicon Valley to not only pitch my company to Silicon Valley investors, but I am also going to help them get a better understanding of the opportunity of what exists in Madison and all the great things we are doing here in Madison."

Kevin Little, a spokesperson from the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce, described Fishidy as a platform made for fishing enthusiasts. Here, members can report the location, type, and other information about the fish they have caught, the report detailed.

Jensen, a software developer and avid angler, created the site to help anglers have more successful fishing trips. As of now, the startup employs eight people in its team. Jensen plans to double the size of the workforce within a year, the report stated.

According to Little, this is the Chamber of Commerce's first time to host the contest. The event's goal was to showcase the different business trends in the near future, The Bader Herald reported.
