Trips to New Zealand have dramatically surged with a 153 percent increase. Booking websites reported that travelers might have been enticed to get a glimpse of the Royal Couple who were on their first day in New Zealand on a tour.

Yesterday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived in New Zealand, said a report from the Daily Mail. Those who were eager to follow the couple found the internet to be a helpful source for flight bookings to Wellington.

Prince George along with the couple was scheduled for a three week trip in New Zealand and Australia that would end on April 25. TravelSupermarket, a travel comparison website, reported that there was a hike of searches for a holiday getaway in New Zealand. The website also said that a 50 percent increase for Wellington searches was seen following the royal couple’s visit. Meanwhile, searches for Auckland increased by 237 percent.

Meanwhile, travel expert Bob Atkinson said, “We all know that whatever The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge do, Brits will follow – photos of the royal couple mixing with the locals in New Zealand, just one day into their trip, have already had a significant impact on holiday searches.”
