During the Belfast Tech Trade Mission in September which was held in California, Cargo took home £82,000 in funding for its beer-making robot Brewbot. The cash was awarded by Invest North Ireland (NI), according to Belfast Telegraph.

The Irish company will use the new capital to fund its research and development and marketing efforts, the report added.

Brewbot was designed by Chris McClelland of Cargo, a company that participated in the first Belfast Technology Conference. The appliance revolutionizes the way people brew drinks at home. The beer-making robot allows beer lovers to brew their own beer anywhere they want. The user of the device can control and monitor the whole brewing process using their smartphone, the report detailed.

McClelland's brewing kit was initially funded via crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. At present, the appliance is being exported to the US, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Taiwan, and Europe. The Brewbot is being sold for£1,000, Belfast Telegraph reported.
