AdsNative has raised USD2 million in seed funding, reported TechCrunch. The startup also announced technology expansion including supply side platform. This would mean that the company would engage in direct selling rather than focusing on sponsored native ads alone.

According to AdsNative CEO Satish Polisetti, the company is currently in “the first innings” of its transition and has numerous “direct, handheld deals.” He also said that the next step would be creating native ad networks. Polisetti also added that the company is driven towards giving “the capability of Facebook-style advertising or Twitter-style advertising to the next generation.”

The seed funding was led by Interwest Partners. It was also participated by Onset Ventures, KBS + Ventures and Foundry Group Angels on AngelList. It was also led by other angel investors including MdotM CEO Sourabh Nyogi, InterClick’s Barry Honig and Mike Kerns, former VP at Yahoo.

Startup AdsNative includes Politico, Rant Media Network and SourceForge among its publishers.
