Rurban has launched a $150,000 crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to fund the initial planning steps for its data center project called Data Studio, according to Data Center Knowledge.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Josh Sanabria explained: "The vision is to give entrepreneurs a driven environment where they can come together and build new and better things, create jobs, and even inspire the next generation. It is beautiful to see people succeed and to bring opportunities to new places and that is what we are doing here."

Rurban plans to rent out the 5,000-square-foot space to startups. The place will have a data center that will function as the startup's connection to professional companies and funding sources. It will also serve as a meeting place where startups from emerging communities can exchange creative ideas for tech products, the report further detailed.

Should the campaign succeed, Rurban would use the funding to conduct a feasibility study and come up with a blueprint of the tech hub. The Michigan-based tech incubator has until March 31 to complete its funding goal, Globe NewsWire reported.
