Google has just confirmed its acquisition of alarm clock app Timely. The said app was created by BitSpin. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, according to Daily Gadgetry.

BitSpin is popular for its aesthetically attractive alarm clock app called Timely. It had a free and a $3 version. But now that Google is the new owner of the app, the upgraded version is already completely free, the report detailed.

Users who have paid for the $3 dollar version may feel short changed. However, the firm has assured current users that the alarm clock app will continue to operate in the same way, the report said.

BitSpin said in an announcement: "For new and existing users, Timely will continue to work as it always has. Thanks to everyone who has downloaded our app and provided feedback along the way; we truly appreciate all your support."

Timely has posted a download count of 5 million on the Google Play store. This ranks it among the most popular Android apps, Daily Gadgetry reported.
