Single Window Authority Concludes Rs 15,000 Worth Crore Project

The State Level Single window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) of the state government today approved 13 projects with a total investment of Rs 14,981 crore.

The authority meeting chaired by Chief secretary A P Padhi recommended the investment proposal of NLC India Ltd for power generation to the high-level clearance authority headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for approval. The proposal entails an investment of Rs 11783.80 crore.

These projects were committed by companies in the recently concluded 'Make In Odisha' conclave. The state received good response during the conclave with an investment intent of Rs 2.03 lakh crore, Industry Secretary Sanjeev Chopra told reporters after the meeting.

Chopra said the proposals cleared by the SLSWCA today were in six different sectors including apparel, chemicals and petro chemicals, food processing Tourism and downstream in metal sectors.

The major projects which received approval of SLSWCA include Adani Wilmar's refined edible oil mill with an investment of Rs 687.12 crore. The proposed oil mill will generate employment for 2,150 people.

The proposal of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) for setting up of second generation (2G) Ethanol plant in Bargarh district with an investment of Rs 500 crore was approved. This project is
expected to create employment for 520 people.

Shyam Metallics and Energy Limited's proposal for setting up steel billets, bars and flat products at an investment of Rs 870.20 crore, with potential of creating employment opportunities for 1,373 people, also got the state government's nod.

The authority also cleared the investment proposal of Natraj Hotel and Resorts Pvt Ltd to set up a 5-star hotel at Bhubaneswar with an investment of Rs 140 crore, Marigold Heritage Pvt Ltd's proposal to set up a 5-star hotel cum resort with an investment of Rs 268 crore and Crackers India Infrastructures Ltd's
proposal to construct a 4 star hotel at Bhubaneswar at a cost of Rs 84.12 crore.

The other investment proposals approved today include Page Industries Ltd's plan to set up a garment manufacturing unit at Ramdaspur, Cuttack with an investment of Rs 135 crore and employment potential of 6,850, Globus Spirits Ltd's proposal to set up a distillery with bottling plant at Chandbali in Bhadrak district with an investment of Rs 150 crore.

Falcon Marine Export Ltd's proposal to set up a shrimp processing and freezing plant at Bhubaneswar at a cost of Rs 77.98 crore, Eastern Nutriments PVT Ltd's proposal to set up a biscuit and dairy products unit at Ramdaspur, Cuttack with an investment of Rs 75 crore, Rakhi Agencies Ltd's proposal to set up an
Aluminium Conductor and Alloy rod at Angul Aluminium Park at a cost of Rs 59.92 crore were also cleared.

The SLSWCA approved Rs 150 crore investment proposal of M/s Carnival Films Pvt Ltd to set up Multiplex, Food Court, Community centre and Supermarket in all the 30 districts of the state in two phases.

Chopra said the government would provide land to these projects in various industrial cluster and investment regions being developed by the state.
