Nowadays, there are only limited number of parenting tech companies and products. Winnie and Grow Parenting, founded by Shakira are among the apps aimed to help parents taking care of their child. The market for parenting app and technology is growing.

Winnie is a tech startup which was founded last year by Sara Mauskopf and Anne Halsal. The company aims to help parents by providing "transformative technology" to assist parents take care of their kids.

In a Q&A which was first appeared in Quora and quoted by Huffington Post, CEO Sara Mauskopf said the company wanted to provide tool to guide parents in similar way technologies help workers.

From her experience, Sara Mauskopf explained two reasons why there are not many good parenting apps. The first one is because the current parenting apps were not developed by parents, so the apps do not address actual real problems parents have. The second one is the founders were not technical, so the product are not of good quality because of lack of technical skills.

Grow Parenting is another promising parenting app which was launched recently. Developed by toy company Fisher-Price in partnership with singer Shakira, a mother of two, the application is called Grow Parenting and available for Android and iOS. It provides 2,000 tips which tailored according to child's age from birth to five years, and also journal to track special milestones in child development.

Shakira said in an interview with Toy News, "I'm happy to know that this app will be an instrumental tool to parents and teachers who would like resources, tips and suggestions on ways to stimulate their children in all stages of development.'

She added, "As a mother I'm usually in need of new ideas on games to play, ways to target certain skills, and all of it while having fun, so I'm thrilled to know that the content in this app will be a good source of support to caregivers everywhere."

Senior VP of global brand marketing for Fisher-Price Lisa Mancuso said, "We're thrilled with parents' response to our partnership with Shakira, so naturally we wanted to do more to amplify the critical importance of early childhood development stimulation."

Tech products for parenting is a relatively new and fresh market. However, Irish Times reported the market is growing. At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2016, the biggest electronics show of the year, there was an entire section dedicated to this growing industry.

Although there are only a small number of parenting tech companies and products, parenting tech is a continuous growing market. Two new apps, Winnie and Grow Parenting are already available to help parents.
