Lincoln has appeared in the recently concluded Detroit Auto Show, 2016 with their all new Continental in the luxury car segment. The Continental has been shaved to a two door version with a flavor of trending flagship saloon. The car appears to compete with S- Class coupe, Bentley's Continental GT or Rolls- Royce, the so called 'ultimate luxury car'.

The Lincoln Continental is developed as a saloon and a 400 HP twin turbo 3- liter V6 engine and 400 lb-ft of twist are sufficient enough to get convinced. Customers with deep pocket are forecast to be the probable buyer for this lavish car, reports Carscoops.

The 2017 Lincoln Continental is scheduled to go on sale later this year as the replacement for the aging MKS. The production version of the car still posses a plenty of continental concept, but the interior is somehow better than any Ford Motor Company, reports Motor Authority.

The production car displayed in the Motor Show apparently requires hard works to save the lavish image of the brand. Ford's premium division is working for years to bring an inspirational concept not mirrored yet by any luxurious production model. However, the displayed model is not convincing enough to save the decaying brand image, reports Autoevolution.

If analyzers' predictions come true, reappearance of Lincoln won't be so easier. It will have to face tough competitions from Mercedes- Benz E- Class, also debuted in Detroit. The tech-loaded Teutonic Sedan is apparently the most advanced offering in the Mercedes Line up and the interior indicates for double or triple pricing compared other E Class cars.

Another favorite in the Detroit Auto Show is the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew. The Raptor SuperCrew features four full-size doors and generous space for rear-seat passengers, unlike other SuperCrew versions. This one is also packed with a V-6 EcoBoost engine powerful enough to outshine some V-8s.

A particular drawback of the Lincoln Continental is the adoption of two door coup concept. The maker will have to reconsider for transforming into four door phenomenon, if it desires to continue the name with 'coupe'. The adoption is a must, as believed by the analysts to sustain in the highly competitive coupe market.

Since Lincoln Continental has been made as a saloon, so imagining it in the form of coupe is somehow difficult for the automobile experts. However, the two door concept may even cause the 'coupe' inventor Theophilus Chin to feel shy, industry insiders believe.

Ford's premium division is working for years to bring an inspirational concept not mirrored yet by any luxurious production model. The Lincoln Division of Ford Motor Company has unveiled a new Continental in Detroit Motor show, 2016. Though the luxury car has been built as a saloon, but it is being called a coupe. However, inclusion of only two doors has raised questions regarding acceptability of the car as a coupe.
