Fans have since been longing for the release of "Gran Turismo 7," especially that the franchise proved to be a success. Now the much-awaited game is believed to come out in 2017. Apart from that, it is rumored to support PlayStation VR, making it playable in virtual reality.

When Sony announced during Paris Game Week that "Gran Turismo Sport" will be released instead, a lot of fans were dismayed. But now, the eagerly anticipated driving game "Gran Turismo 7" will most likely be served in 2017, as reported by Christian Today. And although there's yet to be an official release date, it sure looks a definite window for the game's launch.

According to Realty Today, Sony and Polyphony Digital have unleashed the beta test for "Gran Turismo 7" and is slated for next year. In addition to that, fans were reportedly assured that the developers are on their way to bringing the game out by 2017 or earlier. In fact, reports have it that Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's President and CEO Jim Ryan is assertive that game producer Kazunori Yamauchi can deliver what is expected.

Fans surely were stoked knowing the fact that a beta test will soon be released. This is because betas are usually launched relatively close to an actual game's release date; hence the highly-anticipated "Gran Turismo 7" is not too far from being a reality.

Christian Post, on the other hand, reported that "Gran Turismo 7" could possibly arrive with PlayStation VR capability. This is due to the fact that "Gran Turismo Sport" is supporting Sony's very own virtual reality headset, thus speculations about the "Gran Turismo 7" having the same capability have emerged. To add to that, Sony Computer Entertainment President of Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida reportedly claimed about the possibility for the "Gran Turismo" PlayStation 4 titles to support virtual reality gaming. Yoshida admitted that "many trial tests" were done and that "some genres just work fine."

If "Gran Turismo 7" proves to be a reality in 2017, then the game will definitely be the seventh major release from Sony. And if the said game becomes possible in virtual reality gaming, then that's an added bonus to the many eager fans.

Do you think "Gran Turismo 7" will finally be out in 2017? What are your thoughts on the game being playable in virtual reality? Let us know at the comments below.
