'Girl Meets World' Season 3 Premieres Spring 2016; A Love Triangle to Intensify Between Riley, Lucas, and Maya?

Disney Channel officially announces the renewal for "Girl Meets World" last November 25 for its 3rd installment. The kid-targeted cable network also stated that the show tops the highest total ratings in the top-rated series. The forthcoming season will feature the group of friends' lives as they enter high school. Moreover, the premiere episode plot has been released.

"Girl Meets World" has been renewed by Disney Channel and according to Deadline, Disney Channel officially announced last Wednesday, November 25 that they ordered a 3rd installment for the comedy series. With that being said, the renewal was likely to happen since the show currently tops the highest total viewers in the top-rated series across all kiddie cable networks. It also earned a spot at the top 5 cable series of the year among kids ages 2-11 and teens 9-14.

In addition, the 3rd season is expected to begin filming and production around January 2016. As mentioned by The Wrap, the upcoming season of the 90's hit sitcom will focus on Maya, Sabrina, Lucas and the rest of their group of friends as they enter high school. The 3rd installment is likely to premiere in spring next year.

As for the official synopsis for season 3's premiere, Carter Matt notes that Riley Matthews and her friends are going to navigate the start of high school after graduating. They will also try to figure out what is going to happen next in their personal lives and relationships. The love triangle of Riley (Rowan Blanchard), Lucas Friar (Peyton Meyer), and Maya Hart (Sabrina Carpenter) is going to accelerate in the "Girl Meets Texas" 3-part event.

"Girl Meets World" Season 3 is slated to premiere anytime soon in spring 2016 at 8:30 p.m. exclusively on Disney Channel. "Girl Meets World" is an American coming of age television sitcom created by Michael Jacobs and April Kelly.
