Star Trek Beyond is done filming and a new trailer will come out soon according to director Justin Lin. Paramount exec Marc Evans talks about how he wants the story arc to progress. Writer and star Simon Pegg(Scotty) also shares his insights about his writing experience.

Trek Today reports that it was just recently when Justin Lin, J.J. Abram's successor as the director for the Star Trek franchise, posted on Twitter a picture of a Vulcan gnome beside two Bruce Tea bottles with a caption, "Pulling an all-nighter at the cutting room and hooked on Bruce Tea," that led a fan to ask if a trailer is coming out soon. Lin replied, "Soon!" to the expectant Trekkie.

This means good news for all the Trekkies around the globe as a new trailer is set to come out since filming for 'Star Trek Beyond' has just finished.

No news yet about what the plot is about but studio exec Marc Evans said something interesting about where he wants the sequels to focus on. According to a report by iDigital Times, the President of the Motion Picture Group for Paramount said in an interview, "I often think about the areas of the Star Trek universe that haven't been taken advantage of,' Paramount's Evans says. 'Like, I'll be ridiculous with you, but what would Star Trek: Zero Dark Thirty look like? Where is the SEAL Team Six of the Star Trekuniverse? That fascinates me."

If this is how paramount execs view what Star Trek should be about, then Trekkies should expect action-centric militarized movies compared to classical sci-fi Trek. With Idris Elba as the new "end of the world' villain for the movie, a lot of speculations are circulating the web.

Some think the possibility of Captain Kirk turning bad since in 'Star Trek Into Darkness', he was revived with Khan's blood.

Whatever the storyline is, co-star and screenplay writer for the movie Simon Pegg(Scotty) makes fans hopeful that somehow, even with an action-centric executive, 'Star Trek Beyon' will retain its trekkiness.

In a previous interview, Pegg said, "It was emotional highs and lows all the way because we were under a lot of pressure, because the timeframe was a lot smaller than it would normally be. You write a film of that size, you usually get a year or so, but I think we started maybe six months before we went into production, if that." This could either spell positive or negative for the franchise but being a fan of the franchise himself, fans are hoping he and his co-writer did a great job.

App.com reports that Pegg also discussed the idea of helping return the franchise to its classical and thoughtful roots.

Next year will be the franchise's 50th year anniversary and whatever may come out of the film will still make it part of Trek history. 'Star Trek Beyond' will be released on July 22, 2016.
