Samsung Galaxy S5 on Verizon is confirmed bound for the testing stage of Android 6.0 Marshmallow software. This device is currently under manufacturer development which is expected to come to an end by November.

In a post on the support page for software updates of Verizon, the mobile carrier has revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S5 is confirmed heading to the testing of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Although there is no official statement coming from Verizon Wireless regarding this as of now, the site has posted the process already that in the testing stage the device will undergo a certification process to ensure the "best quality" software can give.

After the development and testing stages are completed, official release will come. However, exact date will depend on the mobile carrier and the location.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow software is confirmed rolling out to Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphones under Verizon with model number SM-G900V in the first quarter of 2016. The device currently runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop software version. There is no official statement from the mobile carrier yet if it is releasing the final Lollipop update.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow is coming with major updates in system and apps. It brings a better "cut, copy and paste" option. Although just a minor improvement, the change for this feature brings extra convenience to user experience.

Cut, copy and paste before leads users on top of the screen to search and decode the cut, copy and paste buttons. In the improved version, this feature will float directly above the selected texts. The same mechanism is done in iOS and Windows mobile OS.

Another improvement is the Chrome browser. Users do not have to worry to be kicked out of an app when slowly loading because Google has devised Chrome Custom Tabs. This new feature allows apps to preload web content before directing the user to an in-app Chrome tab which makes it smoother.
