At the present, TigerAir only has flights to Penang and Kuala Lumpur. It is currently eyeing the specific destinations of Ipoh, Kota Kinabalu and Kuala Terengganu as new destinations. These Malaysian capitals are believed to have the potential to become popular tourist areas. In fact, Kota Kinabalu had increasingly become one throughout the years.

However, before deciding anything, Tiger Airways seeks to truly understand the pros and cons of operating these new routes. Decisions cannot be based on prospects alone. The right timing must also be considered, according to Tigerair's managing director Ho Yuen Sang.

For the previous year, TigerAir had demonstrated a 23% increase in passenger load. This year, the company is striving towards this rate of growth again. In addition to these new routes, TigerAir also plans to increase its number of flights to Penang, from 14 weekly to 21 flights. The airline is very optimistic about Malaysia.
