Clinton Wants Biden As State Secretary
Despite the revelation, no one from Clinton's party or even herself has told Biden about this potential appointment. The internal source, who spoke with a request for anonymity, said that the team is brainstorming on how to make the approach to the vice president, who is remembered to almost fight against Clinton in the Democratic primaries but has been campaigning for her all over the country during the previous months of her Presidential run.
The source said: "They are spending a lot of time figuring out the best way to try to persuade him to do it if she wins."
"He'd be great, and they are spending a lot of time figuring out the best way to try to persuade him to do it if she wins," said the source who claimed to be familiar with Clinton's transition planning.
Joe Biden is considered as one of the most experienced and respected Democrats in the country. Before even joining the administration, Biden also chaired the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
With a 44-year career in Washington being the first to have six terms in the Senate and two terms as President Barack Obama's advisers, Biden is also known to be the keeper of the portfolio on some of the toughest international issues, including those of Iraq and Ukraine.
On a short stay at Clinton's campaign office in Toledo on Monday, the vice president said that he had a conversation with the President of Latvia who advised him to go to Europe and thereafter assure people that NATO will be there to defend them if Russia attacks.
Biden also told that he hoped to stay having some level of connection with certain domestic and foreign policies. But he furthered, "I may write a book. This might disappoint you, it won't be a tell-all book."
Clinton and Biden both lost to President Obama in the 2008 primaries but later continued to serve together in Barack's administration. But as Clinton's 2016 presidential race were finally getting on track making Biden's chances of running impossible, the feelings of the two became bumpier irrespective to their regular lunches at the White House and warm personal relationship.
Clinton's campaign team, on the other hand, refused to respond for some requests for comment.
