MeTV Unveils Toons Network Dedicated to Showcasing Warner Bros. Classics; List of Cartoons Revealed

Weigel Broadcasting Co. announced the launch of MeTV Toons, a new free 24/7 animation network. The channel is dedicated exclusively to classic animation from Hollywood-era shorts to beloved TV series. 

The channel a spinoff of the popular MeTV channel, will showcase a vast array of timeless cartoons from Warner Bros. and other studios.  

Extensive Lineup of Classic Cartoons

The lineup includes iconic characters such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Scooby-Doo, Tom & Jerry, among many others. 

Below is the list of cartoons coming to the channel, according to a teaser, as reported by The Desk:

  • Casper the Friendly Ghost
  • Freakazoid!
  • Huckleberry Hound
  • Inspector Gadget
  • Johnny Quest

Warner Bros. sees Weigel as one of its "long-standing and innovative licensing partners," as  reported by Cartoon Brew, which adds credibility to the upcoming project.

MeTV Toons' Diverse Content 

Apart from Warner Bros.' extensive library, MeTV Toons will feature cartoons from MGM, Paramount Pictures, Fleischer Studios, Hanna-Barbera Studios, and more. 

The network will also benefit from the expertise of renowned animation historian Jerry Beck and veteran voice actor Bob Bergen, who will serve as the signature voice of the network.

In a press release, Neal Sabin, vice-chairman of Weigel Broadcasting Co., emphasized the popularity of classic animation and the network's commitment to showcasing these timeless favorites, Variety reported.

He also noted in a recent presentation that MeTV's cartoon block outperformed several well-known shows in the 25-54-year-old demographic during the fourth quarter of 2023.

MeTV Toons is set to launch on June 25, 2024, and will be available for multi-platform distribution.
